The company, which operates from six manufacturing sites across the UK and a sales office in Ireland, serves the utilities, building services and industrial, and civil and infrastructure markets.
Continual investment in innovative technology, a pioneering approach to product design and uncompromising manufacturing processes all go to ensure Saint-Gobain Pipelines remains a market leader.
An extensive range of ductile iron pipes, fittings, valves, couplings and adaptors for both water and wastewater pipelines are available to the utilities sector.
Natural ductile iron water pipes have fast become the first choice for many pipeline specifiers, with over 8,000 miles of natural pipes installed worldwide to date.
The state of the art pipe system has a unique zinc-aluminium barrier coating, which can be used in the broadest range of applications, eliminating the need for polyethylene sleeving. The pipes are finished with a tough blue epoxy coating, which provides durability and easy identification.
The natural range of pipes is available in the size range DN90-800, with fittings available in the DN80-1600 range.
Large diameter water pipes are available in the size range DN900-1600. The pipes are coated with zinc and bitumen as standard with additional protection available in the form of polyethylene sleeving or tape wrap, depending on soil conditions.
The company also offers integral pipes and fittings for sewerage applications. The system is simple and cost-effective to install; both pipes and fittings are zinc coated with a red epoxy finish to provide clear identification. Integral pipes and fittings are available in the size range DN80-1800.
Ductile iron and steel access covers complete the product range for utility customers, including access covers to suit the telecommunications sector.
The Guardsman is a steel fabricated chamber cover providing improved safety for engineers working above deep, open chambers. During the opening sequence, the operative is constantly shielded, and equipment need only be hoisted 300 millimetres above the chamber before the cover can be closed to provide a safe working platform.
Building services and industrial
The estate range of access covers, together with specialist rainwater gutters and downpipes, provides a valuable product range for the building services and industrial markets.
Ensign exemplifies the high quality drainage systems that Saint-Gobain Pipelines can provide for both above and below ground applications.
Cast iron gutters and downpipes have been manufactured at the Saint-Gobain Pipelines site in Telford, UK for over 100 years. Recognised for its aesthetic charm, the Classical range provides a high quality rainwater system to withstand the test of time.
The comprehensive range of standard and bespoke steel access covers is designed to suit some of the most arduous heavy duty industrial applications whilst being suitable for the most prestigious commercial developments.

Civils and infrastructure
Saint-Gobain Pipelines meets the needs of the civils and infrastructure markets by offering high performance products that are able to meet the increasing demand of traffic density on road networks.
The Inter-Ax ductile iron cover and frame was developed after a three year research programme conducted by Nottingham University in conjunction with the Department of Transport. This research led to the development of the Load Transfer System (LTS), which ensures that access covers are able to withstand the varying traffic loadings encountered on today’s busy highways.
A range of products designed to meet the diverse requirements of the international market completes this product range. The international catalogue is available as a download from the Saint-Gobain website.
From early design advice, soil surveys and drawing take-offs to on-site support and installation training for contractors and engineers, Saint-Gobain Pipelines offers a comprehensive range of services to assist each individual project.
