Power Machines Group is Russia’s leading manufacturer and supplier of equipment for hydro, steam, gas and nuclear power plants, equipment for generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, along with railway equipment from locomotives and rolling stocks to railway track machines.
The company was founded three years ago by uniting leading Russian power equipment manufacturers, which include Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ), Electrosila, Turbine Blades’ Plant (ZTL) and the sales company Energomachexport. The power equipment of the Group’s enterprise is well known in the Republic of Iraq and has been for more than 30 years - we have already supplied turbines and generators produced by LMZ and Electrosila for Iraqi thermal power plants Najibia, Nasiria, Jusifia and also equipment for diesel power plants and different types of railway equipment.
The company has been conducting business with the Republic of Iraq in the frame of the UN Oil-for-Food Programme since Phase V of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). In 1998 Energomachexport (later to join Power Machines Group) signed a contract for the delivery of equipment for Al Adhaim hydro power plant on a “turn-key” basis (two Francis turbines x 13,75 MW). When the main part of the equipment has been supplied the deliveries were suspended due to military operations in Iraq. Similar reasons were given for the suspension of the contract for the construction of HPP Makkul (four Kaplan turbines x 65 MW).
Power Machines is ready to render assistance to Iraq in rebuilding railway and electric supply networks; some contracts for this purpose have already been signed, these are for the supply track laying cranes, mainline locomotives, spare parts for railway equipment and equipment and materials for transmission and distribution of electric energy.
Power Machines Group is interested in the development of business affairs with Iraqi companies in the field of power generation, transmission and distribution (Badush, Behma, Al Kopri power plants), oil and gas fields, including gas compressor units and oil tanks, construction, reconstruction and electrification of railways and the supply of rolling stock.
