JLG Industries Inc. is the leading global manufacturer of access equipment used in construction, industrial, commercial and military applications. This equipment enables men and materials to reach work areas. JLG celebrates its 35th year of operations in 2004.
JLG's aerial work platform products are designed to provide access for personnel. Its boom lifts, scissor lifts and vertical mast lifts elevate workers to heights from 10 feet to 150 feet. All are mobile and most can be driven while elevated.
JLG is also the North American leader of telescopic material handlers. These rough terrain forklifts utilise a telescopic boom and can place up to 12,000 pounds of material. They have a maximum lift height of 55 feet and a maximum reach of 42 feet. JLG acquired the SkyTrak® and Lull® brands of telehandlers in 2003. The military products include the ATLAS (All Terrain Lifting Army System) and MMV (Millennia Military Vehicle) for the US Marine Corps.
In addition, JLG manufactures a range of telescopic material handlers at their manufacturing facility in Maasmechelen for the European market. Lift capacities range from 3.5 to 4.0 tonnes with lifting heights from 7.3 metres to 13.0 metres.
JLG also produces a distinctive hydraulic excavator product line. These machines utilise a rotating telescopic boom that provides more versatility when compared with traditional hydraulic excavators. These machines are available on crawler, wheeled, or highway speed chassis.
JLG also markets a trailer designed for transporting compact equipment with low ground clearance. The Triple-L™ trailers feature a deck that can be completely lowered to ground level so that equipment can be loaded straight on without ramps or winching.
JLG has a dedicated sales and support structure for its government sales. GSA pricing, development of bids, remanufacturing operations, dedicated technical support and training are available for municipal, military and other government agencies.
JLG has produced annual volume in excess of $1 billion and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol JLG. It was founded in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania in 1969 and currently has six manufacturing facilities in the US and one in Belgium. JLG’s executive offices are in Hagerstown, Maryland.
